After several brilliant years with Best Companies, including being named the UK’s #1 consultancy to work for, we’ve moved to Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture.
What makes this one particularly special is that it is an award you can’t buy. It comes directly from the people who work here. Oaklanders are independently surveyed about what it’s really like to be part of Oakland our culture, our people, our freedom to grow, our management, opportunities, and everything in between.
There’s no judging panel to impress and, despite our best efforts, you can’t bribe anyone with doughnuts. It’s our people telling us that Oakland is a great place to work.
And that means an awful lot.

Sharing is caring, right? Giving is a huge part of our ethos here at Oakland, and everyone who works here has the chance to choose how they play it forward.
Each year, we all pick a charity individually, choose a way to fundraise, and go all out for the cause. Every penny we make gets matched by the company, which means even more money goes exactly where it’s needed.
We’re more than up for team events too – think coffee mornings, tough mudders and everything in between. Anything left in our charity pot at the end of the year gets split between causes that mean something to our people.

The People Team is responsible for creating and delivering the DEIB strategy with the support of the DEIB group to help lead initiatives through active participation.

Our charity committee is not just another committee – we’re a team that makes giving awesome happen! Our mission? To run our matched giving scheme and spark internal efforts that make a real difference for local and national charities.
We turn good intentions into actual impact, helping awesome causes get the financial boost they need. Whether its supporting community projects or national non-profit work, we’re all about spreading kindness and creating change.
